Rules of the Road

A comment about comments…

Some of you will agree with what I write. Some of you won’t. Some of you will appreciate my form of humor and style of writing. Some of you won’t. That’s all okay. You are welcome to comment. But before you do, I have a few “rules of the road” regarding commenting. I hope you will practice them with everyone:

  •  If you like my ideas, great!
  • If you disagree with what I’ve said, please think about how you can respond so that it will expand the topic and conversation. Think deeply.
  • If you feel a lengthy rant coming on about anything I’ve said or about someone else’s comment, please use your blog or Facebook space to post it. I’ve had people hold a lengthy argument with each other on my Facebook page. Frankly, it was annoying because the conversation no longer included me, or anyone else commenting on my post for that matter. And it was my page.
  • I reserve the right to delete comments that encourage hate and violence. This also includes name-calling and insulting comments. Being a hater may be the latest “in” thing, but I’m not willing to encourage this kind of behavior on my blog.
  • Threats to my life or anyone else’s will be reported to my internet provider, hopefully yours, and possibly the authorities. I believe in boundaries. This one is a hard limit for me.
